Pure Beeswax Foundation Sheets - Ideal (Half Size)
Made by us, right here in Kyneton, Waggle & Forage's Ideal (half) size foundation sheets are perfect for those running Ideal (half) size supers. They are bigger than half of a full depth foundation sheet and cut perfectly for easy insertion and melding.
Waggle & Forage are really fussy when it comes to 100% pure Australian beeswax and we only purchase from well respected commercial beekeepers right here in Central Victoria.
We’re really proud of our wax foundations. We use a European method to make our product, which avoids any molecular changes to the structure of the beeswax cells. When our foundations are given to the bees, the molecular structure of the wax is the same as the day they made it.
Manufactured right here in Kyneton.
Our standard Ideal (half) depth sizing is 11cm cm x 41.5cm, however for special large orders we can supply various volumes and sheet sizes to suit your needs.
Pure Beeswax Foundation Sheets for Candle Making:
Our Beeswax Foundation Sheets are often used for candle making. We recommend heating the foundation sheet prior to rolling, in order to ensure pliability. Depending on the season, pliability for rolling can be achieved at a temperature between 35 and 45 °C. Beeswax will liquefy between 61 and 64 °C.
As does natural beeswax straight from the hive, our beeswax foundation sheets will be prone to cracking if stored in cold temperatures.
How to Store Beeswax Foundations:
Don’t forget, beeswax has a relatively low melting point range between 61 and 64 °C but that doesn’t mean your foundation sheets should be stored in a cold place! On the contrary, we recommend storing your foundation sheets at a warm room temperature, in a dry place away from direct sunlight. If it’s a warm day and your room is warm - perfect! Further, as our foundation sheets are 100% natural, if they have been sitting in a cool environment, we recommend slightly warming the sheets before use to ensure pliability. This could be achieved in a 25 to 30°C temperature range.
